We are the compliance and digitalisation partner of WEEE treatment operators in Romania.
Why we exist
WiseWEEE started from a simple conviction: environmental compliance should not be a bureaucratic burden, and WEEE operators in Romania deserve tools at the level of those in Western Europe.
We combine a detailed knowledge of WEEE regulations and CENELEC standards with software engineering. That is where the documentation that holds up under inspection came from, the reporting that generates itself, and the Dash platform, which keeps the whole flow in one place.

We audit treatment operators against the EN 50625 and EN 50614 standards — it is one of our services, not a line on a CV. That is why we know what gets checked at an audit, what evidence is asked for and where files fall down.

Either we are your consultants or we are your auditors. Not both. Whoever writes the documentation cannot be the one who checks it.

We work with treatment operators: companies with a permitted facility, which actually dismantle equipment.
Everything we do is built for them — procedures written on the flow inside the facility, dismantling recipes, treatment registers, reporting generated from real records. These are not things you can do well if you have never stood on the shop floor and seen where the material gets stuck.

WEEE compliance, in short.
What does WEEE mean?
- WEEE means waste electrical and electronic equipment — anything that ran on mains power or on batteries and has become waste: fridges, computers, washing machines, phones, light bulbs. In Romanian they are called DEEE. In Romania they are regulated by GEO 5/2015, which transposes European Directive 2012/19/EU.
What is WEEELABEX?
- WEEELABEX is the European standard for treating WEEE and the organisation that runs it. The CENELEC standards used today came out of it — the EN 50625 series and EN 50614 — and compliance audits are carried out by certified WEEELABEX auditors, listed on the organisation's official list.
What are the CENELEC standards for treating WEEE?
- CENELEC is the European standardisation body for electrotechnology. Its standards for WEEE are the EN 50625 series, with the CLC/TS 50625 technical specifications, and EN 50614 for preparing for re-use. In Romania they were adopted through Order 417/2021 and are the official reference.
What does Law 127/2024 require from WEEE treatment operators?
- Law 127/2024 requires authorised treatment operators to prove, within 24 months, that they conform to the standards listed in Order 417/2021 — through certificates issued by accredited bodies. That deadline has passed, so anyone treating WEEE has to be able to show the certificate.
Who can carry out the compliance audit?
- The audit is done by a certified WEEELABEX auditor, as a third party. The rule we keep: at the same client we do either consultancy or the audit, never both — whoever writes the documentation cannot be the one who checks it.
What does a WEEE treatment operator have to report every month?
- The environmental reporting under Order 269/2019 / Annex 10, to GEO 5/2015, plus monthly reporting to every transfer organisation it works with, each in the format that organisation asks for. On top of those come the SIATD records and the registers required by the EN 50625 standards.
